Welcome to My Fantasy and Thriller Bookish Blog

Hi! My name is Lisa Alfano. I am an author and avid reader. As I prepare my fifth novel (my third teen & young adult fantasy book) for publication in late 2024, I decided that it was time for me to expand into the realm of blogging. I have avoided doing so in the past because I often feel intimidated by technology. I’m a Gen Xer. I was a teen in the 1980s, long before the internet, computers, cellphones, and social media. Although I might encounter a few hiccups (and a tech goof-up or two), I hope that you will join me in this journey because I believe that connecting with other booklovers will be fun.

My favorite genres are the ones that I also write: fantasy and thrillers (teen, young adult, and adult). However, I also enjoy reading many other genres. What I look for in a book is an intriguing story with interesting characters. I want to be sucked in, unable to stop turning the pages or go to sleep until I discover how the author has tied up all of the loose ends, and even after then, the best of these stories keep me awake as I ponder the characters’ fates and the plots twists and turns.

My desire with this new endeavor is to discuss the authors and books that have impacted my life, and my writing, as well as discover new amazing authors and books (both indie and traditionally published), and hopefully, learn what authors and books inspire you and have sparked your imagination and love of reading.
